This little ham turned one in February! When his mom and dad found out they were expecting, I jumped at the chance to follow them on this journey - from their pregnancy announcement all the way through this handsome man's first birthday. His momma loves to bake, so it was no surprise she wanted to announce their pregnancy in a way that channeled her love of baking - take a peek here and here. And can I briefly interject to say how much I enjoy looking back at my previous sessions? I've created so many fun memories over the last few years and it's fun to relive each session. Not to mention, perhaps you'll agree that it's come a long way since these photos were taken!
Anyway, back to this dude... following their pregnancy announcement, we met up a few months later to capture their maternity photos (here's a glimpse at one of their maternity photos). It wasn't long thereafter that this sweet boy decided it was time to show the world his precious face. He arrived in mid-February and mom was such a trooper! Take a look back at their fresh 48 and lifestyle newborn sessions for an early look at baby Lucas. We met up again to celebrate his half birthday and boy did he perform for us! He did a great job trying to keep himself upright while we dressed him up and paraded him around the park. I haven't yet shared that session on the blog, but will add it to my to-do list now! :)
Fast forward another 6 months and we met again for what seemed too soon to celebrate his FIRST birthday. We had a TON of fun planning for this shoot and I couldn't be more excited with how his photos turned out! Happy {belated} first birthday little monkey! You make your parents so proud!
In case you couldn't tell, he may or may not have been teething at the time of the shoot. Elmo's eyes were just too tasty! LOL!
I mean seriously, those blue eyes, that grin, and the toe grab... could he get any cuter?! You guys sure did something right! ;-P
The first few photos below remind me of Jaws - I can just hear the music playing in the background as he circles the cake before his gentle attack. Can't say he was too fond of it, but we made a solid attempt at it! And I would be remiss without giving a shout-out to mom for creating this perfect Elmo cake! I must say, the leftovers were quite tasty! If you are in need of a cake, I can connect you to her. Little man has allergies and despite being a gluten-free (and dairy-free, I think) cake, it was deeeeee-licious!
That's a wrap!
