Hello!
I thought I would take a break from sharing the work I do for others to provide a peek into life with my family. While it feels like I spend a lot of my 'free' time on my business, it's important that I spend time with my #1 priority - my family. I've included above a roundup of recent Instagram posts from my personal account. I try not to overwhelm my business account (@KrystiGundrumPhotography) with this sweet face, but it inevitably happens from time to time. #sorrynotsorry He's my little helper, goofball and lively spirit. :) <3
Most of you that follow me here know me personally, but if you don't know me, you'll quickly see from the roundup that I adore my little man. However, he's not the only man in my life. We're a family of four - big brother spends as much time with us as possible. He's a joy to have around - and now that I think back on some of our time with him, I think some of my favorite moments include our pick-ups, especially when little man is with me. Happiness and excitement are plastered on both boys' faces when they see each other after a break... melts a momma's heart. During one of our last weekends with bro, we went on a family hike at Glen Onoko Fallsg. Yes, not the most toddler-friendly hike, but we made it work. Big bro LOVED it and thought it was "soooooo awesome," so we'll have to plan another trip to take him further up the falls without our little guy.
We also took a trip to one of our favorite beaches - Ocean City, New Jersey. It's always nice to escape and spend quality time with family. I will say, however, that there were some trying times, as there are when raising children. It became apparent that we have two boys in very different stages and it's tough to please them at the same time. If you have children with more than a few years' difference, you probably understand. I think the 10-year-old would have rather spent his time at home on the couch playing video games than ripping through waves on a jet ski with daddy. And during that time, little man and I could have napped anywhere. BUT, the important thing is that we escaped as a foursome and we made memories. Good, bad, a few ugly... we'll remember our trip for the ice cream excursions, drenching exodus from the beach, shopping the boardwalk for toys the boys would forget about once we're home... but one thing takes the cake. We had professional photos taken while away. Don't get me wrong, the photos are gorgeous, but we had to go through a bit to capture them. Let me paint this picture: 8 am on a grassy inlet on a humid day without wind. We were eaten alive by flies. Big bro's expression below sums up our thoughts on the hungry flies, but I'm so thankful as a mom and fellow photographer that we had our family captured for the first time. If only I could convince the biggest of my boys to take more photos that include me! :)
If you love OCNJ as much as we do and would like to have your families photos taken, I would highly recommend Nicole from Kaleidoscope Imagery!
Stay tuned on the blog to see more of my latest work and for additional peeks into my personal world.
Yours truly,
Krysti
